About Josh Hall
Hey there! I’m Josh, and I’ve been photographing weddings in Colorado for over a decade. My passion for photography began in high school when my grandfather let me use his old film camera for one of my classes. Photography became my excuse to travel off the beaten path. Armed with my camera, I explored abandoned urban areas after dark with friends, and I soon learned how to create long-exposure “light paintings.” My camera became glued to my hip, and there was beauty everywhere I looked.
I started shooting weddings professionally in 2012 as an assistant to talented photographers who mentored me. I quickly moved from an assistant photographer to a lead photographer, and then became a business owner. Over the years, photography has also allowed me to explore my natural urge for deep gear research to get the best photography gear possible. I upgrade cameras and lenses often, but when I find something I love, I stick with it for awhile.
When I’m not shooting a wedding or editing photos, I’m probably camping or hiking with my wife and dog, riding through the desert on my mountain bike, or having a beer and playing trivia with friends at a local brewery.
Why Wedding Photography?
Weddings pull out the photographic creativity in me, so I’m especially drawn to them. I feel very lucky to be a part of my clients’ personal, intimate, once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Weddings are fun; weddings are emotional; weddings are real. What I do is important to the people I work with, and I love to make people happy through my art.
